About Us

Hello & Welcome Romance Lovers!

Welcome to Modern Romantics – a cozy retreat for book lovers, dreamers, and unabashed romantics! Here at Modern Romantics, our mission is simple: there's no shame in reading romance. We believe in connection, romance, and supporting Canadian. We handpick enchanting book boxes, curated bookish goodies, and foster a lively community where readers can connect, discover new stories, and share their love for all things romance.

Our Story

The story of Modern Romantics begins with a deep love for storytelling and a passion for romance novels. Founded by Ayesha, a lifelong bookworm, our journey started with a simple desire to spread the joy of romance novels far and wide. What began as a small book shop quickly evolved into a bustling hub and bespoke book box service, book club, and more. We love to offer our romantics the chance to dive into beloved classics, uncover new gems, and find their next book bestie.

Meet Ayesha

As the heart and soul of Modern Romantics, Ayesha pours her love for books and her dedication to building a vibrant community into everything we do. Ayesha is committed to curating book boxes that captivate and inspire romance readers of all kinds. Her vision for Modern Romantics is rooted in the belief that romance novels have the power to uplift, ignite, and transport readers to worlds filled with endless possibilities -- there's no shame in that!

Ayesha's affair with romance novels began in her teenhood and has never left. Through Modern Romantics, she hopes to share her passion for romance novels and create a welcoming space where readers can come together to celebrate their shared love of clit-erature.

When she's not busy curating book boxes or chatting with fellow bookworms, you'll find Ayesha surrounded by her beloved pets – two dogs and a cat – or exploring the outdoors with her husband.

Fun fact - she's actually an Athletic Therapist by trade and has worked with some of our Canadian National Teams. Check out her latest reads here on Instagram!

“Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book.”
