This book surprised the heck out of me, I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting to be as in love with this book as I am.
This book is pretty short, it's probably just over 200 pages. Sometimes with books that are short, the story feels rushed, and you feel like you don't get enough character depth to really settle into a story and fall in love with the characters. This book did not have that problem. It had such good pacing and was so succinct, telling you what you needed to know about the characters and the story without info dumping while at the same time, not leaving you out of the loop. If you're looking for a really quick and easy read, this book is perfect. This is a great book to read on a flight or will travelling somewhere. It's perfect as a pallet cleanser in between larger books or series.
I wasn't sure if I was gonna like Chloe at first. This book starts off with a bang and shit happens right away but I quickly fell in love with Chloe, her story and who she is as a person. This book is single POV so you're with Chloe the entire book with the exception of the epilogue. Warren has for sure been added to my top MMCs, he's so sweet I fell in love with him pretty quick and rooted for him and Chloe the whole time.
This book did not have a third act break up (THANK GOD), I always have very mixed feelings about third break ups. A lot of the time they feel forced by an author to fit the "formula", this book does have a third act conflict though and honestly it was perfect for the story.
This book is also the perfect combination of slow burn sexual tension while also being a steamy at the same time. I wouldn't consider this Ali Hazelwood level slow burn but I would put this in the category.
The epilogue is in Warren's POV and it is literally everything you want in an epilogue. It is perfect and I immediately went to Hannah's website to search for more bonus chapters for this book after I finished.
I will also be reviewing book 2 of the series, Next to You, and I'm really excited to dive into it as it comes out April 9th 2024!
Honestly read this book! You can find it here at our shop
