ARC Review - The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson
The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
🌶️🌶️.5/5
To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book because it's a contemporary omegaverse with a cartoon cover, which I think maybe a little misleading to some.
This is a great book for someone who is wanting to dip their toes into a omegaverse and see if it's something that they like, without fully diving in.
It also does have shifters in it although it's a very brief section of the book where they actually shift and honestly not enough for me to actually classify this as shifter.
Noah is probably the most cinnamon roll alpha I've ever read, and I thought that was kind of nice and refreshing. I really liked Noah as a hero, I also really liked the resolution of the third act break up, which I almost never say.
I think if you're someone who really enjoys omegaverse, this may not be the book for you, but this is a great entry point for those wanting to sample but as someone who reads a lot of omegaverse I personally found it lacking compared to what I normally read.
Overall if you want to dip into omegaverse then honestly give this a read as its a great entryway BUT if you read a lot of omegaverse and enjoy it then I'd skip this book
This book comes out Dec 5 2024 and is traditionally published so you can get it at most bookstores
Happy reading Romantics!
XOXO,
Ayesha
